The David Squad players, parents and coaches gathered to say their farewells to founder-member Jan Pochter.
Pochter will be embarking on an exciting new opportunity as head coach for Ukrainian top-30 player Dayana Yastremska (20).
An integral member of the DS, Pochter contributing significantly to the progression to professional status of some of Israel’s finest young players. In particular, he was coach of David Squad player, Yshai Oliel, for 14 years, helping him reach 4th place in the world junior ranking, become French Open doubles champion and reach the final of the Junior Australian open.
Adam Coffer, Chief Executive of the David Squad said: “The David Squad is a family and Jan is very much one of us. I want to thank him for his incredible contribution to DS. Whether he is in Israel with our kids, or elsewhere, we are always proud of him and always send him our love. We wish him the very best of success as with any of our family. We are proud that our system has helped nurture his talent and I am confident he will be a great success with Dayana, who is an exceptionally gifted player”.
